How are you today, mates?
I'm very fine, I'm having a good time over here ;).
The weather was quite rainy. Unfortunately, because we had planned some very cool outdoor-things. I'll tell you about that later in this diary-text, let's start with ... uhm..Monday.
Monday:
At school there was a good message: My saxophon-teacher said he'd be able to repair my saxophone for about 80NZ$, so he took it with him and will tell me on Monday if he'll was able to repair it.
After school Alex, my 'magician-friend', and I went into the city. We were planning on doing some street-busking. For those who don't know what busking is I'll explain it. Busking with magic would be, if we'd set up a table at street and do magic, while we're collecting money with a hat for that.
So we were looking for some fitting spots to do it, but more important we neede a permission from the city council.
The woman at the city council told us to come back the day we would actually do the busking, so we left without the permission.
We went to a street called 'Casabella Lane', it's a little shopping-street, very cute.
We went into an Antique-shop there and the owner told us to have a look at 'The Barbers Hut'. The Barber Mark organises the buskers at Casabella Lane and we talked to him about busking. He wanted to have a quick demonstration of what we do, so I demonstrated my three shell game. He was quite impressed, so he told us to come there on Wednesday again to have a testrun and then we could come there whenever we want to and do some busking =). Very cool.
While we talked to Mark there happened to be a woman in his barbershop who is somehow involved with 'Wintec', a quite big organisation. I think they work with youths.
She heard that we would do magic and offered us to perform at the Wintec-Events which take place every few weeks. This is very very cool xD, we'll definitely keep in touch with her.
I think that's it for Monday - it wasn't too bad ;).
Tuesday:
Tuesday was also special I think.
At school we played hockey during PE, which was good fun, allthough it hurts to get a hockey-ball on your foot at full-speed. Why did I have to be the first goal-keeper? Only because I was on of the few to wear shoes :D?!
During German-Class Alex (this is not my 'magician-friend' but another Alex. The biggest difference between the two is, that this Alex is a girl and the other one is a boy ;D! ) asked me for some typical German boynames for her new born brother, so I made up a list with suggestions for her.
After school I went home because Justin would pick me up at 5:30. I went for a short walk and met some kids from my neighbourhood, they are quite funny and nice and I talked to them for a while.
Afterwards Justin picked me up and took me to his place. His son Timothy was also visiting and he had brought two friends from Hamburg, Felix and Pascal. We talked a bit in German and I realised that it's quite hard for me to switch from englisch to German quickly. Actually when I wanted to say goodbye to them I had to do it in English because I couldn't think of the German expressions fast enough xD.
We had dinner at Justin's place, it was really good. Timothy dropped me off at home somwhere around 9 I guess and I just surfed a bit on the Internet and went to bed afterwards.
Wednesday:
Today was a cool day. School was ok, we finished at 12:30. I'm up to finishing my photography-project soon I suppose, allthough we were supposed to already have it finished. I think from our class only one girl has finished it already - that's how school goes :P. 'Deadlines'.
Oh, and I forgot to bring my sports-clothes, so I wrote a text to Heather if she could bring them to school. She did, very nice :).
During PE we played Volleyball. We made the 6th place (out of 6 xD ). Damn.
After school Alex and I went to 'The Barbers Hut' at Casabella Lane to start our busking. Actually the bus was late, so we missed the busiest time to perform and Casabella Lane was really quiet. That's why we took our things and moved to 'Garden Place', a place in the city-center. We got our permission from the City Council but at the place they gave us were 30 youths hangin' round and they wouldn't leave for 2 hours, so we looked for another spot to perform.
We met a busker in front of a shopping-center and asked him if he had a problem with us performing on the other side of the street...he offered us to just perform next to him and with him. He would play the guitar and we would do magic. We did that and we were a great team, we really managed to get some crowd.
Unfortunately most of the people coming by where youths because every school finished early today, so they wouldn't give money, but it was fun anyway.
When we performed for about...45 minutes I guess some security-man came and kicked us off from our spot. Actually they don't want us to perform at that shopping-center :S.
So we walked on, now the three of us: Scott the Guitay player, Alex and I. Unfortunately it started to rain, so we didn't perform again.
We'll go busking again on Saturday at Casabella Lane somewhere around 11 o'clock in the morning, Mark said it would be busy enough. I hope so. Probably Scott will join us as well, he's pretty cool.
We also decided to go up to Auckland one day to try to busk there, but we have to work out when and how and so on.
Mh, damn, I just realised that I forgot to take photos of our busking. Well, then on Saturday, I think it will look nicer anyway.
I came home, had a shower and some lunch and then Heather dropped me off at the dance-center :).
I start to remember all the routines and it's so much fun =D.
Well, after our class was finished I took a photo of Loryanna withouth telling her and when she found out she wanted me to delete it. When I refused she thought it would be the best idea just to hurt me 'till I delete it ;D. In the end I deleted it and she let me take a nice photo of her. I hope I can upload it here today, if not you'll see it some other day.
I think that's it for today...the next blog-text comes somewhere in the next few days ;). Greetings to everybody. Oh, by the way..'everybody' seems to be quite a lot of people, this diary has already about 9900 views, which is pretty cool :D.
Okay, so...see ya ;)!
Yours,
Timon.
