Hey there!

How are you? I hope not too bad?
I'm fine :).

At the moment I'm sitting in the living room, listening to music (High by Lighthouse Family, a band my host-brother casually listens to) and petting our cat. His name is Spike.

Today was a really hot day, it's getting warmer since it's summer - surprise xD.

Next Saturday I will go on the Rotary South Island Tour for about 3 weeks so I probably won't be able to write on my blog also for about 3 weeks. Afterwards there will be heaps of photos and even more stories to tell ;).

Last Wednesday was the last day of school for this year so I said goodbye to heaps of my friends for at least a couple of weeks. Some of them are international students and will go back to their own country soon, some of them will change school and some of them will go to study in another country. It was weird.

We're on holiday now until next february, so heaps of free time. Since that could be a bit boring sometimes I will probably try and look for a sidejob within Rotary if that's okay with Rotary. If not I might train magic and saxophone a lot and a friend of mine invited me to join his Taekwondo-club. I'm sure I won't run out of things to do.

On Friday Alex, my magic-friend, invited me to come along on a Baha'i-celebration. Baha'i is a religion that has it's origins in Iran I think. The celebration was highly interesting since I'm really interested in different cultures and religions.
Alex and I performed a small magic show which got good responses and we got offered a radio interview for that :) (to quote my counsellor Justin: 'You have a great face for radio Timon!').

Last weekend, Saturday, Neville from our club took me out to the Waitomo Caves :). It was awesome. The Waitomo Caves are a cave-system near Rotorua and just incredible. Neville sent me onto the Blackwater-Rafting, he unfortunately didn't join us since he already did it. The Rafting-group was really nice, most of them irish.
For Blackwater-Rafting you get a black...rubber-bagel to sit in and swim through the rivers under the mountains with that.
The start of the Rafting tour was a bit scary since I used to be afraid of grashoppers and crickets and when I looked around me with my headlight there were about 20 wetas sitting directly above me. Wetas are kind of giant crickets, giant wetas are just disgusting. Fortunately these weren't giant crickets. Google for photos if you dare ;D.
Either way, the rest was ingenious. The caves themselves are beautiful but at one point we swam through a river with the 'roof' 20 meters above us and put our headlights out and then there were 10000000 (and more '0') glowworms above use and at the walls, it's so beautiful! I can't really describe it and photos don't catch the atmosphere, everyone was just stunned by that moment.
The tour-leaders told us that the glowworms themselves are kind of fly-larvas that only sit around and sleep and eat. Then they transform into a fly that lives for about 2 days, the only thing those flys do is having sex to keep the race alive. So their life consists of eating, sleeping and having sex.

Oh, by the way, the cat just jumped off my lap and is sleeping on the floor now I guess.

Sunday was quite normal, in the evening I went to church.

Yesterday morning I went to another Rotary club since their speaker couldn't hold her speach for some reason. So Dan, a member of the club and the guy who's son I thaught some magic before, asked me if I could introduce myself to the club. I was happy to do so and held my speech for them again.

In the evening I went to a magic show that was set up in Hamilton. We got free tickets from the magic circle. It wasn't too bad but on the other hand it wasn't amazing either.

Today I just had a long sleep and after I got up I went into town and hung out there for a while. Tonight I went to Quizz Night with Janet (my hostmum), it was quite entertaining. Did you know that the queen is on facebook now but it's not possible for users to poke her? And what's the name of some band member who is quite embarassed because of a photo on the internet of him having sex with a dog?
The MC of the Quizz Night had to laugh so much when he read these questions ;D.

I think that's it for today, I'll try to upload some photos now.

See you soon!

Yours,

Timon.

    Timon:

    Hey!

For some reason the other photos of the blackwaterrafting don't load onto the site, I'll try to solve that and upload them later.
    See ya!

    Yours,

    Timon.
