How r u n wht r u up 2 2morrow? Il hv skwl 2mrrw.
Well, when I first read a text from a friend in that style I was quite confused.
It means: How are you and what are you up to tomorrow? I will have school tomorrow.
Actually, I just realised I don't know why I put that in here, but I
felt like doing that :P.
I'm fine by the way.
The weather the last few days was very rainy and cold, but that's ok. I'll just start with telling you what I did on Friday: I had to get up at 6 o'clock in the morning to attend the Rotary-meeting. At the Rotary-meeting I met Stewart again. Do you remember who Stewart is?
Stewart is the guy who took me to Rotorua a few weeks ago and he'll be an Rotary outbound-student next year. So that was quite nice.
School was fun on Friday. Let's just go through the 'highlights' xD:
In Media-Studies I had to paint my complete left arm brown. Then my classmates would stick green paper-leaves to the back of my hand. Why should I do that? Well, my arm was turned into a tree for a very cute music-video of another group and I offered to help them :D. After 15 minutes of holding up my arm in the same position I started swearing at myself because it hurted xD.
In German a class-mate showed some pictures of Berlin, she just had been there. Was nice to see.
My teacher asked me to spent some time tomorrow and Tuesday with two classmates who want to get a stipendium to study in Germany, so I'll help them a bit.
Pe was cool, I played Hockey again. Learned two things:
- I'm a bad goal-keeper.
- I'm a bad goal-keeper.
:D.
After school Parham, his brother, Sara, some friends of Sara and I went to Burger King, it was reallly fun.
When they went home I had to wait for the bus, so I walked into a supermarket for that time. Guess who worked in that supermarket? Loreyanna, the girl from the dance-center :D. Here face was very surprised when she saw me and I really had to laugh :D.
In the evening I just chilled out, wrote text and surfed on the internet from Jim's laptop.
Think that's it...let's move on to Saturday!
Saturday: Weeeeeekend!
Oh, and getting up at 6 o'clock again -.-.... why? Because I would go to the Rotary District-Seminar. So Jim dropped me off at 7:15 at Libby's car and we ( Libby, Carmen - she's from our Rotary Club - Billy from another club, Danae and I ) drove down to Taupo. Libby teached me how to pronounce Taupo correctly ( it's a Maori-word. Even to pronounce 'Maori' is different than you may think :D. ). So here's how you pronounce it xD:
'Tau' like 'toe' (those little things at the end of your feet) 'po' like the 'po' from 'poor' :P.
Wow, we learned a Maori-word! Well, I have no idea what it means. 'Wai' means 'water' I think. As you may know the region I'm in is Waikato. I don't know what 'kato' means.
Well, back to topic :D. In Taupo/Toepoor xD the district-seminar took place. It wasn't too bad, but it wasn't too exciting either. There were some young people I talked to, they talked about 'Interact'. It's like a student-driven Rotary-club at schools and sounds quite good. Danae has made up one at Hillcrest High, I gotta join them and probably see in one year what I could do about that in Germany and or Holland. But that's in one year.
After the district-seminar I went to the assembly of Jim's motobike-club. I nearly fell asleep because I was soooo tired xD. When the assembly was finished we went to our hotel and I had a walk through Taupo. It was nice, but the shops closed at 5 ( I started walking at 4:30 ). In the evening we ( Jim, Heather, David - Jim's friend - and I )had tea at a restaurant called 'Mole and chicken'. Cool name, isn't it :D?
I had another walk after tea, then I went into bed and fell asleep
immediatly :P. And woke up on..
Sunday/Today:
I was supposed to drive back today with Jim on the motorbike, but because it was bad weather we'll do that another day.
We had breakfast at the 'Wild Bean'-cafe ( I found that name quite funny when I translated it into German/Dutch :D ) and started driving home.
We made a stop at the Huka-falls. They're really cool, I took some nice pictures. I hope I can upload them.
We had lunch at a restaurant called 'Dino's' and arrived at home at...I don't know. But we arrived xD.
I started answering some mails and in at 7 Jim dropped at the Waikato Magic Circle.
You know, I'm used to a magic-circle-meeting with 15 people, well organised and so on. This was different. There were about 7 people, all came at different times and just sat on some couches xD. 2 people at my age, on of them the magician from my form. It was really fun and I was lucky. The ex-president gave away his magic-magazines he collected over 25 years. I got the magazines from 1987.
By the way: We talked in dutch, he is dutch and came here when he was 18. That was really cool. I gave him on of our dutch Rotary-pins with 'lots of love from holland' on it, he was very pleased :D.
The first thing I did was to suggest as a theme for the next evening next month 'mentalism'. And yes, they found it a good idea, so that'll be the next theme :D.
Alex (the other magician from my school) and I also started to plan some double-acts and street-magic, would be cool. We'll see.
I think that's it for now. Feel free to ask any questions and keep reading ;).
Oh, Dad told me where my music is, so I have music now :D. And for some reason the spaces between my sentences dissappear when I upload this text -.- .. well, that's life :P.
See ya =D!
Yours,
Timon.
P.S.: In Taupo there are plenty of activities to do and in NZ many people will take me out to do some things. Here are some of the things I'd like to do:
Skydiving xD
Waitomo Caves with glowwormes
diving
sailing
seeing the lord of the rings filmset
surfing
see a maori-village
see a kiwi
bungee
See ya ;)!
